In the year 2006 the SLV-Bildungszentren Rhein-Ruhr (SLV education centres) were founded with the aim of assuring an excellent service for the customer by means of a new structure of education and training and an even stronger customer closeness. Having the knowledge that particularly on the technical field the excellent education and training of all employees leads to an increase in efficiency and productivity, the SLV education centres offer effective education to company employees and private people near to the customer. Beside of the main competences in welding education, the offer on education by education centres comprises the whole range of the technical jobs in trade and industry within the integrated education Revier (Ausbildungsverbund Revier. Thus, the customers can choose between individual modules of education up to the whole education in the jobs of an industrial mechanic, a milling worker, a plant fitter, structural mechanic, tool fitter, electronic, processing mechanic, mechatronic, machine and plant operator, production mechanic and part finisher. The scope education extends over the whole Ruhr area being directed to jobless people, those employed in companies and to apprentices. Additional offers are integration measures contributing to activating the existing potential of work force in addition to common apprenticeship. Furthermore, the education centres by means of several projects offer young people and young adults the possibility of making a decision on their choice of career, to check, test and evaluate their abilities and skills.
A further focus of the work is the consulting of companies concerning possible restructuring measures usually leading to mayor changes within the company. Changes in the company caused by a reduced domestic demand or the new adjustment on the market often make companies carry out measures on adapting the number of personnel. We offer such companies and the employees concerned by these measures various support being an alternative of the classic social plan in the form of compensation. In doing so, we offer the representatives of the employers and the works council our support as early as in a phase where the measure of adaptation of numbers in personnel first is considered a reaction on measures on restructuring. Our experience has shown that the cooperation with the companies is important at that early stage, in order to effectively realise the instruments of the transfer of personnel both for the employer and the employees whose work place is in danger. Moreover, we support companies coping with problems (legal proceedings against the Labour Agencies, legal aspects for termination work relationships, processes of change in team work, making discussions with customers etc.)
