The SLV Fellbach was developed in 1978 from the Office for the Promotion of Trade and Industry  Baden-Württemberg and was merged with the GSI in 2001. The SLV offers a wide range of services on welding. Among its scope of performance is the theoretical and practical education of experts, material testing and investigation of damages, quality assurance and building supervision as well as customer specific research and the execution of tests. Within the scope of the practical education and training in Fellbach welders are educated and qualified on all welding processes and education levels.  The theoretical education comprises the entire range of welding jobs from the welding practitioner and welding specialist up to the welding engineer. Moreover, the SLV Fellbach is the notified body for the issuance of verification of suitability, for certifications according to DIN EN ISO 3834 as well as it assumes the building supervision during the welding manufacture on the construction sites. Within the scope of its intensive activities on research and testing, the SLV entrusted by trade and industry searches for the best possible solutions for welding tasks in production engineering.  Furthermore, the SLV experts perform tests for the application of industrial robots or on the field of resistance and  laser welding technology.  In the accredited testing laboratory of the SLV Fellbach a variety of procedure qualification tests, working tests and material testing is offered. The SLV gives advice on the establishment of test plans and develops expertise for the clarification of cases of damage on behalf of companies, authorities and justice.
