For more than 20 years the GSI has developed software for welding engineering with the emphasis laid on the fields of training software or software for the field of quality assurance and technology. The training software is based on the experience and know how of the GSI in welding education. Using this knowledge and competence in didactics and software various distance learning courses and blended learning courses have been developed, also known as CBT - computer based training. These media are also offered as an instrument of further education even without training and examination. This software is available in several languages and has been awarded both nationally and internationally several times the best multimedia training software.   

Within the scope of training software there are also the reference books of the series "Aktuell"- available both, in German and English. Software of the series Starweld and DIVA in essential comprises software for the field of quality assurance, documentation and welding technology.  The series include e.g. software for the administration of welders, for the development and the administration of welder qualification tests, procedure specification qualifications etc. Moreover there are programmes for the calculation of welding parameters, the consumption of consumables, determination of welding times, calculation of costs etc.
