Process qualification/certification

Processes such as cutting processes, welding processes or also brazing/soldering processes can be certified in different areas of application and according to various standards. In addition to the requirements from the subject-specific standards, as listed in Table 3, it is often necessary to take account of the supplementary requirements from the product standards too. 

A lot of qualifications, e.g. for thermal cutting processes according to DIN EN 1090‑2, welding procedure and welder qualification tests as well as suitability tests for reinforcing steel, are associated with materials tests. Here, we offer you the complete range of destructive and non-destructive materials tests. Our in-house experts in the various subject areas are at your disposal also for advice in these fields and during the monitoring of the qualification processes.

We carry out process qualification/certification procedures in the following areas of application:

• Directive 97/23/EC (Pressure Equipment Directive) as a qualification testing body appointed according to Article 13 for permanent joints which are manufactured by welding or brazing/soldering
• Federal State Building Regulations of North Rhine-Westphalia as a qualification testing body for the checking of manufacturers of certain construction products and of users of certain construction types according to Section 17, Paragraph 5 of the Model Building Regulations (MBO) for cutting, welding and brazing/soldering processes as well as for thermal spraying
