This course is aimed at individuals who are responsible for corrosion protection measures from planning to acceptance and therefore require special knowledge and skills in the field of standard-compliant corrosion protection.
The aim of this course is to provide participants with the knowledge required for corrosion protection for executors and supervisors in order to be able to carry out inspections professionally.
The following theoretical content is covered:
Materials, construction technology, fundamentals of corrosion science, methods of surface preparation, environmental conditions, coatings and coverings, conditions for carrying out the work, standards and specifications, quality management, inspection activities, health protection, environmental protection.
Extensive practical training teaches the use and limitations of typical production-related tests:
cross-cut test, Bresle test, determination of cleanliness and roughness, coating thickness measurement, pull-off test, determination of climatic conditions, PIG, evaluation of degrees of rust and coating defects, determination of types of corrosion, porosity testing, and much more.
There are no entry requirements for the Frosio course. Anyone can participate in the course. After passing the exams, participants will be awarded a Level 1, 2 or 3 certificate based on their proven professional experience. This certification is carried out directly by FROSIO. The training and exam are identical for all three levels.
The training begins with a self-study phase. During this phase, participants must acquire the necessary knowledge independently with the help of our learning programme. In a six-week phase prior to the exam week, a 2-2.5-hour web seminar is held once a week to clarify any open questions and to check the participants' learning progress. The webinars take place in the evenings between 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Participants prepare practice questions, which are discussed during the seminars.
The learning effort per week starting from the first web seminar is approximately 10–15 hours per week.
During the classroom phase, theoretical lectures take place on Tuesday. The practical training takes place on Wednesday. Here, the practical content is taught. No PPE is required.
